The World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos will welcome U.S. President Donald Trump next week. Running from January 19 to 23, the event will feature a record 64 heads of state and government. WEF President Børge Brende has expressed pleasure at Trump’s return to the annual gathering.

Trump last attended the WEF in person in 2020, though he addressed the forum via video link in 2017 to announce new import tariffs. This time, he will lead the largest U.S. delegation ever sent to Davos, including at least five senior cabinet members. His special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will also join the event.

The 2026 conference will bring together global leaders, including six of the seven G7 leaders. Confirmed attendees feature Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Argentine President Javier Milei, and Israeli President Isaac Herzog. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will also participate. Syrian President Ahmed al-Scharaa and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney are among the other high-profile guests.

The forum will host discussions on global economic and political challenges. With Trump’s presence and a record number of leaders, this year’s WEF is set to be one of the most closely watched in recent years. Organisers anticipate wide-ranging debates on trade, security, and international cooperation.
