Tübingen's Bulky Waste Collection Gets New Operator: ALBA
Tübingen's bulky waste management service sees a significant change from August 1, 2023. The Municipal Services of Tübingen (KST) have outsourced the service to ALBA, aiming to stabilize staffing levels and improve efficiency. Currently, only 20 out of the 25 planned positions in waste collection are filled, with employees from other areas often assisting. To address this, KST will offer all waste collection employees a position in another KST area from 2027. ALBA will now manage bulky waste management throughout the district, including the 'Change Service' - setting up new bins, collecting unwanted ones, and repairing damaged ones. Citizens can order a bulky waste collection, receiving notification within 14 days and collection within four weeks. An express collection within four days is also possible for a fee. The bulky waste management service for citizens remains largely unchanged, with registration still via the district's waste management website or app. ALBA takes over the service from August 1, 2023, promising improved efficiency and stability in staffing levels.
