Sener Koltuk, a renowned figure in Turkish aviation history, passed away on June 12, 2008, at the age of 57, following a heart attack. Born in Istanbul in 1951, Koltuk's passion for aviation was evident from an early age.
After completing his high school education in Istanbul, Koltuk pursued his dream by studying at the Air Force Academy. His service in the Turkish Air Forces began in 1970, where he served as a fighter pilot and later trained other aviators.

After leaving the Turkish Air Forces in 1987, Koltuk continued his career as a test pilot for TAI, where he worked for 18 years. During this period, he completed the test flight of 521 aircraft and did a total of 1042 flights, all of which were successful.

He led test and operational flights during the F-16 introduction phase in Turkey, starting from the acquisition of the first F-16s in 1987. He also participated in the development and localization processes that helped Turkey produce F-16s domestically.
