Turkic States Unite in Khankendi to Strengthen Transport Security Cooperation
A high-level security meeting took place in Khankendi on 14 November, focusing on transport safety across Turkic states. Heads of special services from six nations gathered to discuss threats to key routes, including the Zangezur corridor. Azerbaijan’s security chief led the talks, stressing the need for stronger cooperation among teams against global risks.
The 27th plenary session of the Conference of the Special Service Agencies of the Turkic States brought together officials from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. An honorary guest from Hungary also attended the discussions in Khankendi.
The Khankendi talks concluded with a call for deeper collaboration among Turkic security agencies. Participants agreed on the urgency of protecting transport corridors like Zangezur from emerging threats. Concrete steps for joint action were not disclosed, but the meeting signalled a shared commitment to securing regional trade networks.
