Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan leaders meet to strengthen strategic ties

Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will travel to Astana for a two-day state visit on November 24–25. The trip comes at the invitation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Both leaders aim to deepen their countries’ strategic partnership during the talks.

This will not be the first high-level meeting between the two presidents in 2023. In August, Berdimuhamedov welcomed Tokayev in Turkmenistan, where they explored ways to boost cooperation in trade, energy, and transit. Their discussions also reaffirmed a shared commitment to expanding bilateral ties.

The November visit will focus on key areas such as trade, energy, and transit. Both countries have repeatedly signaled their intention to expand cooperation. The outcome of the talks could shape future projects between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
