Twitch streamer Rose Mondy wins Miss Germany 2026 in leadership revolution
Rose Mondy, a 26-year-old Twitch streamer from Herne, has been crowned Miss Germany 2026. The competition, now focused on female leadership rather than beauty, saw her win against nearly 2,600 applicants, including a biologist and a drugstore team leader.
The Miss Germany contest has changed direction in recent years. Organisers shifted from judging appearance to celebrating professional success, innovation, and social impact. The event now features three categories—'Female Leader,' 'Female Mover,' and 'Female Founder'—with a clear goal: to find future business leaders, not influencers.
Mondy, also known as Rosemondy, is a well-known figure in the male-dominated gaming world. She streams games like *Fortnite* and *Minecraft* to a wide audience. Before winning, she was one of three finalists who each gave a two-minute speech. In her address, she criticised the habit of judging women on looks instead of ability. She also spoke openly about her struggles with speech difficulties and the racism she faced growing up as the child of Syrian parents. Her message was direct: *'We are strong. We work hard.'* She shared her story to inspire other women. Mondy follows last year's winner, Valentina Busik, a doctor specialising in AI healthcare. The shift in focus reflects the competition's new mission—to highlight achievement over appearance.
The title now belongs to Mondy, who stood out among thousands of candidates. Her win reinforces the contest's new direction, where leadership and impact matter more than traditional beauty standards. The event continues to move away from its old format, prioritising professional success and societal contribution.
