Two elderly women critically injured after crossing against red light in Berlin

Two elderly women were seriously injured in a traffic accident in Charlottenburg on Monday. The incident happened at the intersection of Gaussstraße, Olbersstraße, and Lise-Meitner-Straße. Both pedestrians, aged 77 and 78, suffered head injuries, cuts, and concussions after being struck by a car. The women were crossing Gaussstraße against a red light when the collision occurred. A 51-year-old driver, travelling along Olbersstraße toward Gaussstraße, hit them as they entered the road. The two pedestrians remain under medical care following the crash. Police continue to examine the details of the accident, including how the women came to cross against the signal. Further updates will depend on the outcome of the investigation.
