Two Malaysian senators reappointed to extend cabinet roles until 2028
Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh and K. Saraswathy have been reappointed as senators for a second term. The decision was made by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong under the Federal Constitution. Their new term begins on December 10, 2025, and runs until December 9, 2028.
The two senators first took office on December 10, 2022. Their reappointment allows them to continue serving in the Unity Government Cabinet. Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh holds the position of Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, while K. Saraswathy serves as Deputy Minister of National Unity.
With their reappointment, both senators will remain in their cabinet positions for another three years. Their extended term follows constitutional procedures and maintains their involvement in government operations. The oath ceremony marked the formal start of their second term.
