Two men arrested after violent attempted robbery in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg
Two men have been arrested after an attempted robbery in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg early on Sunday morning. The incident took place at around 2:30 a.m. on Prenzlauer Allee, where a 28-year-old woman was attacked from behind by the suspects.
The attackers tried to grab the victim’s shopping bag and handbag. During the struggle, the 18-year-old suspect and the woman fell to the ground. She suffered minor injuries to her left knee and hand but refused medical help.
Police officers quickly apprehended both suspects near the scene. The two men, aged 18 and 28, were taken into custody for questioning. After processing, they were later released. The criminal police division of Directorate 5 (City) has since taken over the investigation. Authorities continue to examine the details of the attempted robbery.
The case remains under active investigation by the Berlin police. No further arrests have been made at this stage. The woman’s injuries were minor, and she did not require hospital treatment.
