Two Renowned Psychologists Honoured for Transformative Work
Two renowned scholars, Prof. Dr. Silvia Schneider and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Reese, will be honoured at the German Psychology Prize ceremony on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Berlin. The event, organised by several leading psychology organisations, will celebrate their significant contributions to mental health and sustainable action.
Prof. Schneider, a pioneer in children's and adolescents' mental health, will receive the prize for her groundbreaking work in the field. Her research has greatly impacted practical approaches to supporting young people's psychological well-being.
Prof. Reese, an expert in sustainable action and social cohesion, will also be recognised for his influential research. His insights have helped bridge the gap between environmental and social concerns, paving the way for a more livable future.
The ceremony, held at the Rhineland-Palatinate Representation in Berlin, will include keynote speeches by the awardees and a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Gert Scobel. The discussion, titled 'Healthy Mind, Healthy Environment', will explore how to create a sustainable future for young generations.
The German Psychology Prize, awarded every two years, is endowed with 10,000 euros and recognises work of high social and practical significance. This year's recipients, Prof. Schneider and Prof. Reese, embody the prize's mission, demonstrating the power of psychological research to transform lives and society.
