Two Suspected Car Thieves Arrested in Zehlendorf After Chase and Collision
Two suspected car thieves were arrested in Zehlendorf. A 68-year-old man and a 45-year-old man were apprehended following a minor collision and a foot chase respectively. The investigation is now in the hands of a specialized unit from Police Directorate 4 (South).
The arrests were not without incident. Two officers sustained injuries and had to leave work early. The 68-year-old man, who was involved in a minor collision with a police car, was found in possession of a switchblade. He also injured himself while resisting arrest and received medical treatment at the hospital.
The 45-year-old man fled on foot from a second car before being apprehended. Both men were fingerprinted and will be presented to a judge. A Mitsubishi with Polish license plates, found to be stolen, was also seized.
The two suspected car thieves will face a judge, with their fingerprints to be presented as evidence. The investigation continues under the supervision of the specialized unit from Police Directorate 4 (South).
