Two Suspects Arrested in Mannheim and Filderstadt Theft Cases
A 57-year-old man from Mannheim is behind bars, accused of repeatedly stealing goods worth tens of thousands of euros from city center stores. Internal investigations at a postal service provider in Filderstadt have also led to the detention of a 51-year-old employee, suspected of theft over an extended period.
The Mannheim man, currently in pre-trial detention, is believed to have targeted several stores between Friday and Wednesday. He was caught red-handed by a store detective and subsequently arrested by police. During a search of his apartment, investigators discovered a trove of stolen goods, including smartphones and electronic devices, valued at tens of thousands of euros.
Meanwhile, in Filderstadt, a 51-year-old employee of a postal and parcel service provider has been placed in investigative custody. The suspect was caught opening a parcel without authorization on Sunday. Authorities suspect that he has been stealing goods shipments for some time.
Both suspects are being investigated for professional theft. Police are looking into possible accomplices in the Mannheim case. The postal service provider is conducting its own internal investigation to prevent further incidents.
