Investigators Discover 15,000 Euros in Counterfeit Money During Check - Two Syrian Men Arrested on A8 with €15,000 in Counterfeit Money
Two Syrian consumers, aged 36 and 27, were arrested on the A8 motorway near Irschenberg on 2nd November 2025. They were found in possession of counterfeit money, totalling €15,000, in a Mercedes car en route to Munich. The men were apprehended by undercover financial crime officers who discovered the fake banknotes hidden in their vehicle. Following their arrest, the suspects were brought before an investigating judge at the request of the Munich II Public Prosecutor’s Office. The counterfeit money, amounting to €15,000, was seized by the police. The two men remain in custody as the investigation continues.
