UAE Unveils Roadmap for Governing Emerging Technologies

The UAE Federal Public Prosecution has published a comprehensive White Paper, serving as a roadmap for governing emerging technologies. The document, launched ahead of the Governance of Emerging Technologies Summit 2025 (GETS 2025), provides a detailed analysis of how technologies like AI, blockchain, and quantum computing intersect with various sectors.

Chancellor Salem Ali Al Zaabi, chairing the Higher Organising Committee of GETS 2025, described the White Paper as a crucial guide for aligning technological innovation with responsible governance. The White Paper, consolidating insights from over 60 international experts, offers frameworks for ethics, risk management, and transparency in the digital age.

The White Paper's release is part of the Public Prosecution's broader presence at GITEX 2025. Alongside this initiative, the event showcases projects such as the Virtual Assistant for the Public Prosecutor, the Legislative Digitization Project, and the AI Ethics Charter. These projects demonstrate the UAE's commitment to a sustainable digital ecosystem that balances innovation with human values.

The UAE Attorney General, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, echoed this vision, stating that the White Paper reflects the UAE's commitment to a digital future that respects human values and the rule of law. The White Paper's proposals for governance, ethics, and risk management are expected to shape the global dialogue on responsible innovation at GETS 2025 and beyond.
