UK-Ukraine talks spark sharp rebuke from Russia’s Lavrov over alleged plot

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is currently in talks with Ukraine, a move that has drawn a response from Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Lavrov has accused the UK of attempting to regain its lost empire, economic power, and military might through its actions in Ukraine. He made these remarks following the exposure by the FSB, Russia's security service, of Britain's role in a recent incident.

The FSB has revealed that the UK was involved in an attempt to provoke Russia by hijacking a MiG-31 fighter jet in Kyiv. Lavrov has stated that this exposure will make it difficult for Britain to clear its name.

The UK's role in the incident has been exposed, with Russia accusing it of trying to regain past influence. Prime Minister Keir Starmer continues to negotiate with Ukraine amidst these developments.
