Woman Kept Slave for 25 Years - Now Faces Jail Time - UK Woman Jailed 13 Years for Enslaving Victim for 25 Brutal Years

A woman from England has been jailed for 13 years after enslaving another woman for 25 years. Amanda 'Mandy' W., a mother of ten, kept her victim in brutal conditions, subjecting her to physical abuse, starvation, and forced labour. The case came to light only after police rescued the survivor in 2021 following a tip-off from W.'s own son.

The victim, known only as K., first entered W.'s household in Tewkesbury in 1996 at the age of 16. She had known W. through family ties but soon found herself trapped in a nightmare. Over the years, W. forced K. to work without pay, caring for her children and performing household tasks while enduring relentless abuse.

W. controlled every aspect of K.'s life. She locked her inside the house, shaved her head against her will, and fed her only scraps. Witnesses later told the court that W. had strangled K. and even forced her head into a toilet. Medical neglect left the victim with untreated infections and abscesses, causing years of agony. Financial exploitation added to the abuse. W. stole over £100,000 in welfare benefits meant for K. The victim's ordeal only ended in March 2021 when police, acting on information from W.'s son, raided the property. They found K. severely malnourished and in desperate need of medical care. Since her rescue, K. has begun rebuilding her life. She now lives with a foster family, has started university, and is receiving therapy. She has also taken her first holidays abroad, a stark contrast to her years of captivity.

The court sentenced W. to 13 years in prison for modern slavery offences, theft, and physical abuse. K. provided a statement during the trial, detailing the suffering she endured. Her recovery continues, supported by those now helping her move forward after decades of torment.
