Ukraine Boosts Rescue Capabilities with Advanced Swedish Boats

Ukraine's emergency services have bolstered their capabilities with advanced rescue boats. The vessels, designed by a Swedish manufacturer, have been trained on by Ukrainian specialists in Sweden. They are set to join the Ukrainian fleet in the coming months, enhancing emergency response on rivers and coastal waters.

The boats, named Märta Collin and Balder, were developed and produced by Örnsköldsvik Shipyard in Sweden. Ukrainian rescuers have learned to navigate, control, and coordinate these vessels in maritime emergencies, understanding their technical capabilities. This training follows a previous donation of Swedish-made CB90 assault boats from Denmark, demonstrating international support for Ukraine.

The CB90 boats are versatile, designed for high-speed troop deployment, reconnaissance, and coastal defense. They are currently in use by Ukraine's Navy and Intelligence Directorate. The Swedish company will continue to provide technical support and maintenance for the rescue and fire boats after their transfer to Ukraine.

The addition of these advanced rescue boats will significantly enhance Ukraine's emergency response capabilities on rivers and coastal waters. The practical training in Sweden ensures Ukrainian specialists are equipped to operate these vessels effectively. The Swedish company's ongoing support will further ensure the boats' reliability and longevity.
