UN Marks 80th Anniversary with Interactive 'The UN and Us' Exhibition
The United Nations celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, an interactive exhibition titled 'The UN and Us' is opening on October 2 at 5 PM. The exhibition, organized by the German Society for the United Nations, aims to educate visitors about the UN's significance and impact on our daily lives. It will be held at Stadthaus 1, Natruper Tor-Wall 2, and is free to enter during Stadthaus hours for visitors aged 15 and above, making it an ideal educational opportunity for school classes.
The exhibition, which runs until November 7, uses a variety of multimedia elements to engage visitors. These include texts, illustrations, photos, a film, and an interactive game. The topics covered range from UN peacekeeping missions to environmental protection, global development, and human rights. The exhibition is designed to be immersive and interactive, helping visitors understand the UN's role and influence on a personal level.
The exhibition is organized by the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), a federal ministry of the German government. The current Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze, leads the BMZ. She is joined by State Secretary Jutta Urpilainen in overseeing the organization's projects, including 'The UN and Us'.
The 'The UN and Us' exhibition offers a unique opportunity to learn about the United Nations' work and its relevance to our lives. With its interactive elements and multimedia approach, it promises to be an engaging and informative experience. The exhibition is open to all, with a particular invitation extended to school classes. It will run from October 2 to November 7 at Stadthaus 1, Natruper Tor-Wall 2, with free entry during Stadthaus hours.
