United Russia Launches Digital Candidate Selection for Komi Elections
United Russia is preparing for upcoming elections in the Komi Republic, aiming to secure two seats in the State Duma and over 1,000 local mandates. The party has launched an open electronic selection process for candidates, with nominations closing at the end of April.
Among the potential candidates is Stanislav Kochyev, a decorated Hero of Russia, reflecting the party's focus on experience and service.
The party's candidate selection runs through the Gosuslugi portal, ensuring transparency and accessibility. Rostislav Goldstein, Secretary of United Russia's Komi branch, highlighted the system's convenience, anonymity, and security. Voters will register between April 20 and May 29, with the preliminary vote scheduled from May 25 to 31.
United Russia's strategy in Komi follows its People's Program, a document designed to address local needs. Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the party's General Council, stressed the importance of internal competition and open discussion among members. To boost participation, the party offers a 25% bonus to electronic votes cast by veterans and active-duty servicemembers involved in the special military operation. The final list of State Duma candidates will be confirmed at the party's June congress, after nominations close on April 30.
The election process in Komi includes electronic voting, extended registration periods, and incentives for military personnel. United Russia's approach combines digital tools with a focus on regional priorities. The results will determine the party's representation in both the State Duma and local government.
