Unlicensed 71-Year-Old Driver Sparks Berlin Traffic Chaos and Injuries
The crash started when the elderly driver pulled out from a shopping centre car park into traffic. His vehicle struck a Dacia driven by a 35-year-old man, pushing it into a stone pillar. Undeterred, the motorist then drove over a median strip and hit an 82-year-old pedestrian, causing her serious injuries. Her 86-year-old companion escaped physical harm but was left in shock.
The incident resulted in three injured pedestrians and significant property damage. The case has now been passed to Berlin’s specialised traffic crimes unit. Investigators will determine whether charges will follow.
