Unlicensed driver causes €8,000 crash on Thüringen's B87 highway
A 24-year-old man caused a rear-end collision on the B87 near Mattstedt on Saturday afternoon. The crash resulted in no injuries, but both vehicles suffered significant damage totalling around €8,000.
The incident happened when the driver failed to take proper care on the road. Police arrived at the scene and requested his licence, but he could not provide one. He later admitted to never having held a valid driver's licence.
The man now faces charges for driving without a licence. Authorities have not released details on how many similar accidents occurred in Thüringen last year.
The collision left both cars with total damages of about €8,000. No one was hurt, but the driver will appear in court for operating a vehicle without legal permission. The case remains under investigation.
