Unsolved for 11 years: The haunting murder of Maria Glikina lingers in Nizhny Novgorod

Eleven years have passed since the tragic murder of 19-year-old Maria Glikina in the heart of Nizhny Novgorod. Despite extensive investigations, the perpetrator remains unknown.

In 2013, Maria Glikina's lifeless body was discovered in the basement of an abandoned building at 42 Studenaya Street. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation. The brutal crime shocked the city and sparked a massive investigation.

Over the years, authorities have screened more than 11,000 individuals and subjected around 7,000 men to forensic DNA analysis. Yet, the identity of the killer remains elusive. The case has proven to be one of the most challenging and complex in the region's history.

Eleven years on, the search for Maria Glikina's killer continues. Despite extensive efforts, the perpetrator remains at large. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward, hoping to finally bring justice to Maria and her family.
