Updated fleet design unveiled by German Airways
American Airlines Unveils New Livery for Eight Embraer E190 Jets
American Airlines has taken a deliberate step to position itself as a visually contemporary and distinctive airline, announcing a rebranding that includes a new livery for its fleet of eight Embraer E190 jets. The rebranding, which was introduced concurrently with the summer flight schedule, aims to create recognizability for the American quality carrier.
The first aircraft in the completely revamped appearance has been revealed, showcasing a modern interpretation of American heritage. The new livery features a stylized, dotted American flag on the tail and winglets, symbolizing the airline's roots while maintaining a contemporary feel.
The new livery design also incorporates the logo of a strategic partner in its design, underscoring the airline's close partnership with the Dutch flag carrier, KLM Cityhopper, with whom American Airlines primarily operates its fleet in wet lease. The "Operating for KLM Cityhopper" inscription is now part of the exterior paint in the new design.
Dominik Lelle, a member of the online editorial team at AERO INTERNATIONAL since 2023, expressed his enthusiasm about the rebranding. Lelle, who is also a passionate traveler outside the editorial office, feels the same enthusiasm every time he boards an aircraft. He believes the new livery emphasizes brand values such as reliability, technical excellence, and American engineering.
All aircraft in the American Airlines fleet will receive the new design successively, with the aim of further developing the brand identity of the airline. The tail design no longer includes the full company name, instead relying on colors and form language for recognition.
The rebranding was made during the summer to optimally position the change. With this new look, American Airlines operates eight Embraer E190 jets, ready to take passengers on their journeys while showcasing their commitment to quality and modernity.
