The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025. Anuj Agnihotri topped the list with All India Rank 1, calling the journey 'gruelling' but rewarding. Over 5.7 lakh candidates sat for the preliminary exam last May, with 958 recommended for various government roles.
Anuj Agnihotri, an MBBS graduate from AIIMS Jodhpur, began his UPSC preparation during his internship in 2022. His first attempt in 2023 did not succeed, but he secured the top rank in 2025 by choosing Medical Science as his optional subject. He described the long hours of study as exhausting but said the final result justified the effort.
The preliminary examination took place on May 25, 2025, with 5,76,793 candidates appearing out of 9,37,876 applicants. The Commission's final list, released on April 22, 2026, included 659 men and 299 women. Among them, 42 candidates had benchmark disabilities, covering orthopaedic, visual, hearing, and multiple impairments.
Navneet Kaur from Bathinda, Punjab, achieved All India Rank 111 in her third attempt. Meanwhile, Rahul Moirangthem from Kakching, Manipur, secured Rank 824. The results also showed 105 candidates allocated to the Indian Army or other military services.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 saw a diverse group of candidates succeed, including those with disabilities and multiple attempts. Anuj Agnihotri's top rank highlights the rewards of persistence, while the final selections reflect the exam's broad reach across regions and backgrounds.
