US Ambassador and Maharashtra CM discuss trade and tech partnerships in Mumbai
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai on Saturday. The discussions at the chief minister’s official residence focused on strengthening trade, technology, and business ties between the US and the state. Consul General Michael Schreuder also attended the meeting, which explored deeper collaboration in key sectors.
During the talks, Fadnavis presented Maharashtra’s flagship projects, including the Navi Mumbai International Edu City. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in areas like manufacturing, entertainment, and technology. The ambassador later met N. Chandrasekaran, chairperson of the Tata companies, as part of his visit.
The ambassador also commented on the relationship between former US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described their friendship as 'real' and highlighted its significance in US-India relations.
The meeting concluded with plans to deepen the US-Maharashtra partnership. Strategic priorities were set to boost investments and business connections. The discussions aimed to create concrete opportunities for collaboration in the coming months.
