Uzbekistan delegation praises Kazakhstan's historic constitutional vote

A delegation from Uzbekistan has closely monitored Kazakhstan's recent constitutional referendum. Led by Zaynitdin Nizomakhodzhaev, the group examined every stage of the voting process. Their observations highlighted the event's significance as a major political moment for the country.

The Uzbek team arrived and began work immediately, focusing on procedural details. They checked voter registration numbers, public notification methods, and accessibility for those unable to attend polling stations. Home voting was arranged for eligible voters, with several cases directly observed by the delegation.

Nizomakhodzhaev, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission, praised the preparations and smooth conduct of the vote. He noted the high level of organisation and the active involvement of young election staff and observers. By midday, turnout had already exceeded 40%, indicating strong public engagement. No violations were reported during the voting process. Election commission members remained transparent, answering all questions from observers. The delegation also included representatives from 37 other states and 11 international organisations, alongside observers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan as part of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly group.

The referendum was described as a new historical milestone for Kazakhstan. Nizomakhodzhaev expressed his hopes for a thoughtful decision by the Kazakh people. With 359 international observers accredited, the process was closely watched, reinforcing its importance on the regional stage.
