Uzbekistan Repats 35 Children from Russia in Humanitarian Effort

In a recent humanitarian effort, 35 unaccompanied Uzbek children were repatriated from Russia to Uzbekistan over the course of two months. The operation, coordinated by the Uzbek embassy in Moscow, aimed to protect the rights and interests of these vulnerable young citizens.

Between October 9 and 16, 16 children were returned to their home country from cities including St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Chelyabinsk. The repatriation process involved Uzbek officials verifying the children's identities, processing necessary documents, arranging medical examinations, and ensuring their safe return to Tashkent. In a separate effort on November 1, another 19 minors were returned from various Russian cities. The successful coordination of this operation involved the Uzbek embassy working closely with the Interior Ministry, Health Ministry, and National Agency for Social Protection.

In total, 35 Uzbek children who had been left without parental care in Russia were reunited with their families or placed in appropriate care facilities in Uzbekistan. The repatriation efforts highlight the commitment of Uzbek authorities to safeguarding the well-being of its citizens abroad.
