Vandalism strikes Schmalkalden as election posters defaced ahead of vote
Several incidents of criminal damage linked to the local elections have been reported in Schmalkalden. Over Friday evening and Saturday night, multiple properties were vandalised, including election posters and a party mailbox. Local police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
At Stiller Tor, three large election posters from different political parties were sprayed with paint. The damage was discovered early on Saturday morning. Authorities have not yet identified those responsible.
The incidents follow a pattern of election-related vandalism in the area. Police continue to gather evidence and are urging the public to assist with their enquiries. Anyone with details about the perpetrators is encouraged to get in touch.
