VdK honors members
The Nesselwang branch of the VdK (Social Association Germany) recently hosted an Advent celebration at the Martin Guesthouse. The event recognised long-standing members and brought together local officials and volunteers in a festive setting.
Among the guests were Nesselwang’s mayor, Pirmin Joas, and district chair Renate Domin, who joined the celebrations to honour dedication within the organisation.
The ceremony highlighted the contributions of several members. Helmut Lechleitner, a CSU politician and chairman of VdK Bayern, was recognised for 25 years of membership—having first joined in 1979. James Wehr also received honours for a quarter-century of service.
Willi Endres stood out as the longest-serving attendee, marking 40 years with the VdK. Each honoree was presented with a certificate and a commemorative plaque in appreciation of their commitment. Mayor Joas took the opportunity to praise the VdK’s impact on community life. He specifically thanked the organisation’s board for their ongoing efforts. Following the formalities, guests gathered for coffee and cake, enjoying a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
The event celebrated loyalty and service within the VdK’s Nesselwang chapter. Long-standing members like Lechleitner, Wehr, and Endres were formally acknowledged for their decades of involvement. The gathering also reinforced ties between the association and local leaders.
