Veteran of Great Patriotic War, Vasily Serdyukov, Passes Away at 102
Veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Vasily Antonovich Serdyukov, has passed away at the age of 102. The district akimat of Astana extended its condolences to his family and loved ones.
Born on November 21, 1926, in the Akmola region, Serdyukov was drafted into the army at 17. He fought on the 1st Belorussian Front, participating in the liberation of Minsk and Poland. Serdyukov crossed the Vistula, Oder, and Spree rivers, and took part in the storming of Berlin. After the war, he graduated from the Novosibirsk Military Institute of Railway Engineers and worked in the railway industry for over 40 years. Serdyukov passed away in Aktobe, Kazakhstan.
The veteran's contributions to the war effort and his subsequent career in the railway industry will be remembered. His family and loved ones mourn his loss.
