Veterans' Association Honours Dedicated Collectors

Volunteers from the Obergünzburg Veterans’ Comradeship Association were honoured for their dedicated service at a recent ceremony. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Deputy District Council President Alfons Weber, who praised the volunteers' commitment.

Michael Schreck received the Silver Merit Clasp for a decade of service. Unfortunately, Heinz Zander and Michael Wölfle, also honoured, could not attend. The ceremony was well-attended, with District Manager Sebastian Weilbach and Major Valentin present.

The collectors' efforts are crucial. They enable the German War Graves Commission's projects, preserving war cemeteries and promoting peace initiatives. Martin Jäckle was honoured for 6 years of service with the Bronze Merit Clasp. Tobias Zander, recognised for 20 years with the Gold Merit Clasp, and Norbert Zander, honoured for 30 years with the District Association of Swabia Merit Badge, exemplify the organisation's long-standing commitment.

The Obergünzburg Veterans’ Comradeship Association's collectors were honoured for their years of service. Their work, valued for both material and moral contributions, supports peace and reconciliation initiatives. Despite limited documentation, their impact is clear.
