Vienenburg's Central Plaza Set for Improvements in Three Scenarios
Vienenburg's central square could soon see improvements, with three scenarios outlined to boost its appeal and functionality. The city administration has submitted a funding request, including provisions for planning, construction, and further public engagement initiatives.
In May 2024, the city of Goslar commissioned a feasibility study to enhance Vienenburg Market Square. The study, completed in late August, was based on a comprehensive analysis of the current state, participatory workshops, and discussions with local stakeholders. It aimed to develop concepts and action plans for the future design and revitalization of the square and its surroundings. The full feasibility study is available for download on the city of Goslar’s website.
The city administration has submitted an application for funding potential measures through the Braunschweig Regional Development Office under the Zukunftsräume Niedersachsen program. However, a search did not yield specific measures for the Vienenburg Marktplatz upgrade under this program.
Three scenarios have been outlined to improve Vienenburg's central square, with a feasibility study completed and a funding application submitted. While specific measures are yet to be identified under the Zukunftsräume Niedersachsen program, the city continues to explore options for enhancing the square.
