Viersen's New Diversity Network Unites 28 Groups for Inclusion
A new Diversity Network has launched in the Viersen district, bringing together 28 local alliances, initiatives, and intercultural organisations. The coalition aims to promote respectful coexistence while challenging hostile narratives in the community. Leaders say the network will work to strengthen social cohesion and visibly uphold democratic values.
The network operates as an open coalition, highlighting the varied work of its member groups. Jens Loebbert, director of the Municipal Integration Center, stressed the need to actively counter divisive rhetoric. His comments came as the network announced plans for long-term expansion.
Jens Ernesti, head of the Department for Social Affairs, Youth, Health, and Labour in Viersen, has also backed the initiative. The network's goal is to create a permanent alliance that fosters diversity and mutual respect. While no further organisations have been publicly confirmed beyond the initial 28, interested groups can reach out to Tristan Kubis for details on joining.
The Diversity Network Viersen now includes 28 member organisations committed to democratic principles and inclusion. Its focus remains on building a more united community through visible action. Contact information for new members is available through the network's coordinator.
