Vietnam and Nepal deepen ties ahead of 50th diplomatic anniversary

Vietnam and Nepal have pledged to strengthen their cooperation across multiple sectors. The agreement came during a zoom meeting between Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Lê Hoài Trung and Nepalese Ambassador Dhan Bahadur Oli in Hanoi on December 13, 2025. Both sides highlighted the importance of deeper ties as they approach the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

During the talks, Minister Trung proposed expanding connectivity through exchanges and zoom meetings. He also suggested establishing direct cooperation between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and the Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Negotiations for new agreements on trade and investment were encouraged to boost economic collaboration.

The meeting marked a step toward broader collaboration as Vietnam and Nepal prepare to celebrate five decades of diplomatic ties. Future agreements and joint initiatives are expected to strengthen economic, cultural, and political connections between the two nations.
