Vietnam and Thailand Elevate Ties to Strategic Partnership Level
Vietnam and Thailand have strengthened their relationship by upgrading bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phạm Việt Hùng recently visited Chiang Mai to explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two nations.
During his working trip, Ambassador Hùng met with Chiang Mai Governor Rattapol Naradisorn. The two discussed ways to deepen collaboration, particularly with the Vietnamese provinces of Lao Cai and Dien Bien. Governor Naradisorn expressed enthusiasm for expanding ties and welcomed Vietnamese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Chiang Mai.
The visit reinforced ties between Vietnam and Thailand, with Chiang Mai showing a clear interest in partnerships with Vietnamese provinces. Future plans include joint celebrations for the diplomatic milestone in 2026 and expanded economic collaboration.
