Vietnam Reiterates Sovereignty Over Thitu Island Amidst Regional Tensions

Vietnam has reiterated its sovereignty over Thitu Island, a key part of the disputed Spratly Archipelago. The country has expressed concern over recent incidents involving Chinese and Philippine vessels in the surrounding waters, calling for all parties to respect its claims.

Vietnam's assertion of sovereignty is backed by historical and legal evidence, which it uses to support its claim over the entire Spratly Archipelago, including Thitu Island. Recently, both Vietnam and China have deployed ships around the island, raising tensions in the region.

Vietnam urges all parties involved to exercise restraint and act responsibly. It calls on them to comply with international law and maritime regulations. Additionally, Vietnam encourages efforts to create favorable conditions for negotiations on a Code of Conduct (COC) in the South China Sea that aligns with international law.

Vietnam's reaffirmation of its sovereignty over Thitu Island comes amidst increased maritime activity in the region. The country's call for respect of its claims and adherence to international law highlights the need for diplomatic resolution of the disputes in the South China Sea.
