Vietnam & Thailand Journalists Join Forces to Fight Fake News

Vietnam has recently revamped its political and administrative system, resulting in a more streamlined media landscape. In response to the rapid spread of false content on social media, the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) and Vietnamese media agencies have stepped up efforts to combat fake news through rigorous journalism and fact-checking training.

The VJA, in collaboration with the Confederation of Thai Journalists (CTJ), has been actively tackling issues such as fake news, environmental information, and human trafficking, focusing on both Vietnam and Thailand. During their recent meeting, the two sides discussed the media landscape and national developments in each country. The VJA proposed sharing experiences in information verification and journalist training, as well as establishing joint communication mechanisms. The CTJ agreed to these proposals and suggested regular exchanges, linkedin activities, and training workshops to strengthen their cooperation.

The VJA and CTJ's collaboration aims to enhance journalism standards and combat misinformation in Vietnam and Thailand. By sharing experiences and conducting joint activities, the two organizations hope to create a more informed and truthful media landscape in the region.
