Vietnam-US Mark 80 Years of Independence and 30 of Diplomatic Ties
Vietnam and the United States marked significant milestones in their relationship, with Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh highlighting 80 years of Vietnam's independence and 30 years of diplomatic ties. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, built on mutual understanding, is set to navigate new challenges together.
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) President Phan Anh Son expressed hope for the Vietnam-USA Society to expand its network and cooperation. Since its reconstitution in the early 1990s, the Society has played a pivotal role in strengthening people-to-people ties. It has facilitated thousands of exchanges, building trust and narrowing differences between the two nations.
The Society's impact was evident in the special symphony concert 'Connecting Vietnam-US Melodies'. Renowned artists from both countries performed, symbolizing artistic connection and friendship. Vice President Nguyen Hai Giang emphasized the cultural significance of the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra's performance in Vietnam. The Society's work is supported by US-American partners, including USAID and various non-governmental organizations, active since 1995 in people-to-people exchange activities.
The Vietnam-USA Society's efforts have contributed to the relationship overcoming historical ups and downs, reaching the highest level of partnership, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. As both nations face new challenges, they are committed to engaging in dialogue and working together in the spirit of mutual understanding, cooperation, and shared benefit.
