Vietnam’s PM Attends Historic G20 Summit in Johannesburg

Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has arrived in Johannesburg for the 2025 G20 Summit. This marks the first visit by a Vietnamese leader to South Africa in over two decades. The event brings together global leaders to discuss pressing economic and sustainability challenges.

Prime Minister Chính and his spouse landed at O.R. Tambo International Airport ahead of the summit. South Africa, as this year’s host, has set the theme as ‘Unity, Equality, and Sustainable Development’ for the discussions.

The summit runs until its conclusion in Johannesburg, with Vietnam playing an active role in the debates. Prime Minister Chính’s participation highlights the country’s push for deeper global partnerships. The outcomes could shape future cooperation in trade, energy, and sustainable development.
