Vietnam's remote islands and naval forces begin early voting ahead of March 15 election
Early voting has been approved for several polling stations in Vietnam's Truong Sa special zone and the 5th naval special forces brigade. The National Election Council gave the green light for these locations to cast ballots ahead of the official election day. Some stations will open as soon as March 5, while others follow later in the month.
Polling station No. 4, based at the 5th naval special forces brigade in Dong Hai ward, will be the first to organize voting on March 5. This station serves military personnel stationed in Khanh Hoa province.
In the Truong Sa special zone, 20 polling stations across various islands will hold their elections on March 8. These remote locations require early arrangements to ensure all eligible voters can participate.
The remaining stations in the area, specifically No. 1 and No. 14, will follow the standard schedule. They will open on the official election day, March 15.
Khanh Hoa province has also confirmed a list of 20 candidates for the 16th legislative period. The group includes leaders from central ministries and agencies, ensuring a mix of national representation. However, specific details about their regional origins or nominations remain undisclosed.
The early voting measures aim to accommodate remote and military voters in the Truong Sa zone and Khanh Hoa. Polling stations will operate on different dates to ensure full participation. The election process continues as planned, with the final results expected after March 15.
