Vinzent-Vitus Leitgeb shifts from podcasts to politics at Süddeutsche Zeitung
Vinzent-Vitus Leitgeb has returned to work after a period of parental leave. Instead of resuming his previous position, he has taken on a new role at Süddeutsche Zeitung. The move sees him shift focus within the newsroom. Leitgeb previously co-led the newspaper’s podcast and video team alongside Laura Terberl. Together, they built a portfolio that now attracts tens of millions of streams annually. Their projects include well-known formats like Das Thema, launched in 2018, as well as spin-offs such as Auf den Punkt and the investigative series Wirecard: 1.9 Billion Lies. Now, he has transitioned to the politics desk. His new assignment centers on education policy, marking a clear departure from his earlier multimedia work. No successor has been named for his former position. The change places Leitgeb in a different area of journalism, moving from digital content to political reporting. His past projects remain part of Süddeutsche Zeitung’s output, continuing to draw large audiences. The paper has not announced any replacement for his previous role.
