Violent Berlin robbery leaves man unconscious after phone theft near Leopoldplatz
Berlin's criminal police are hunting for two suspects after a violent robbery left a 39-year-old man seriously injured. The attack took place near Leopoldplatz station, where the victim was followed and assaulted before losing consciousness.
The incident began as the man exited the U6 subway line at Leopoldplatz station. One of the suspects grabbed his device, sparking a confrontation. Both attackers then punched the victim repeatedly until he was knocked unconscious.
Emergency services rushed the man to hospital with severe injuries. Doctors treated him for a torn tendon, a deep cut above his eye, and a concussion. While he was unconscious, the suspects stole his device, wallet, and headphones.
No updates on the investigation or surveillance footage have been released since the attack on November 26, 2023.
The victim remains in recovery after the assault. Police continue their search for the two suspects involved in the robbery. Authorities have not yet provided further details on the ongoing investigation.
