Violent brawl erupts at Berlin football match after teen assault

A violent clash broke out in Berlin's Hellersdorf district on Sunday afternoon. The incident began during a football match near Teterower Ring and escalated into a physical assault involving a teenager and several adults. Police were called to the scene after reports of a disturbance.

The trouble started around 2:30 p.m. when a 16-year-old became involved in a verbal argument with a group of unknown individuals. The confrontation quickly turned physical, with the teenager being pinned against a fence, choked, and struck in the face by multiple attackers. After the assault, the group fled towards Boizenburger Straße.

When officers arrived, they found several people still in the area. As police attempted to identify those involved, a 44-year-old man intervened aggressively. He refused to show identification and physically resisted officers during the operation. A breathalyser test later revealed his blood alcohol level was approximately 0.2%. The man sustained injuries to his face, wrist, and knee during the struggle. In total, five people—including the 16-year-old victim and the 44-year-old man—were detained by police for further questioning.

The investigation into the assault and subsequent disturbances is ongoing. Authorities are reviewing witness statements and evidence to determine charges. The teenager received medical attention, while the detained individuals remain in custody.
