Vladivostok launches two-month cleanliness campaign with Citywide Cleanup Day
Vladivostok will hold its annual Citywide Cleanup Day on April 18. The event is part of a broader two-month campaign to improve urban cleanliness and appearance. Municipal staff, local businesses, and residents will all take part in the effort.
The Cleanliness Campaign runs from April 1 to June 1. During this period, a dedicated headquarters will coordinate sanitation and urban improvement projects across the city. Teams will focus on removing illegal flyers and graffiti from bus stops, apartment doors, garages, and utility poles.
Volunteers are invited to join the initiative by contacting their building managers or property management companies. These groups will help assign work sites for the cleanup. Beyond waste removal, the campaign includes landscaping efforts, such as planting flower beds, trees, and shrubs in public areas and courtyards. District administrations and local businesses will also contribute. Their tasks involve clearing public spaces and eliminating unauthorised advertisements as part of the city's wider beautification plan.
The cleanup on April 18 marks a key moment in Vladivostok's seasonal push for cleaner streets and greener public spaces. Organisers aim to involve as many residents as possible, with structured support from city officials and businesses. The campaign's success will depend on coordinated efforts across all participating groups.
