Vladivostok's Patrokl district to get a new public square by summer
Vladivostok's city administration has opened a tender for a new public square in the Patrokl microdistrict. The project, named Heart of Patrokl, will transform a 628-square-metre plot into a shared space for local residents. Contractors have until 18 March to submit their bids.
The planned square will sit near 17 Sochinskaya Street, serving residents in the main part of the district north of the bypass road. Work includes levelling the land, laying a 175-square-metre cobblestone path with curbs, and installing modern autonomous lighting. Five new benches and four trash bins will also be added.
A contractor will be chosen by the end of March and must finish all improvements by 31 August. The municipal contract is valued at 3,030,140 rubles. The project focuses on creating a pedestrian-friendly zone. However, no public records detail how many green spaces or parks have been developed through citizen input in Patrokl over the past five years.
Once completed, Heart of Patrokl will provide a central gathering spot for the district. The square's new features, from seating to lighting, aim to improve daily life for nearby residents. Work is set to begin shortly after the contractor is selected.
