Volunteer Patrols and Cossacks Bolster Nizhny Novgorod's Safety

In Nizhny Novgorod, volunteer people's patrols and Cossack formations have played a significant role in maintaining public order, with around 800 individuals involved since the start of the year. Their efforts have led to the detection of approximately 118 crimes and 1500 administrative offenses.

A roundtable discussion at N. A. Dobrolyubov Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University brought together key figures to discuss this collaboration. Oleg Sokolov, head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod, attended the event. Alexander Ilychenko praised the work of 11 voluntary people's patrols (DND) and one Cossack society, highlighting their contribution to ensuring the safety of the city.

Svetlana Kolobova provided insight into the historical development of Cossackdom in Russia. Igor Vlasov, the current Supreme Ataman of the ANO "Great Brotherhood of Cossack Troops," also participated. He emphasized the fruitful collaboration between Cossackdom and the Ministry of Defense of Russia, as well as the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Nizhny Novgorod department of the Great Brotherhood of Cossack Troops (VBCV) operates actively in the region.

The head of the city's Ministry of Internal Affairs acknowledged the crucial role of Cossack formations in maintaining public order. Their efforts, alongside those of the volunteer people's patrols, have significantly impacted the city's safety and security.
