Waldstraße in Heimbach-Weis to Close for Five Days Next Week
Waldstraße in Neuwied's Heimbach-Weis district will close to traffic next week. The shutdown runs from Monday, March 16, to Friday, March 20, 2026. Drivers will need to find alternative routes during this period.
The closure affects the stretch of Waldstraße between the zoo and the Antonskreuz car park. Authorities have cited traffic safety measures as the reason for the temporary shutdown.
Work crews will complete the necessary tasks within the five-day window. Once finished, the road will reopen immediately to all vehicles. No previous long-term closures or major construction projects have been recorded in this area. The current shutdown remains a short-term measure for safety improvements.
The road will remain closed for five weekdays, ending on March 20. After that, normal traffic flow will resume along Waldstraße. Drivers are advised to plan ahead for the disruption.
