Wanted Theft Suspect Arrested and Deported from Russia to Turkey

A foreign national wanted for a major theft has been apprehended and deported from Russia. The suspect, accused of a large-scale fraud in Izmir with Turkish Airlines in 2011, was detained by police in Krasnodar in 2024 and later expelled from the country. The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, was arrested by Krasnodar police in 2024. Regional authorities ruled to administratively expel him from Russia. The man had been using forged shipping documents to deceive residents of Izmir into signing promissory notes for fictitious debts back in 2011. This scam resulted in losses of around 2.5 million Turkish lira. The suspect had been on an international wanted list since the crime and was finally apprehended in Russia. Russian police transferred the suspect to Turkish authorities at Krasnodar International Airport, where he was handed over to Turkish law enforcement. The suspected perpetrator, accused of a large-scale theft in Izmir with Turkish Airlines in 2011, was arrested in 2024 and deported from Russia. The man, whose identity remains unknown, is now in the custody of Turkish authorities. The exact charges and further details about the case are yet to be disclosed.
