War-Zone Pets Take Center Stage in Russia’s First Photo Exhibition
A unique photo exhibition has opened at the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. For the first time in Russia, it showcases pets living alongside troops in war zones. The display highlights the bond between animals and soldiers during conflict.
The exhibition features 32 portraits of cats and dogs from the front lines. Most were photographed by Oleg Anderson, a staff member of the Legislative Assembly and a volunteer in the special military operation. His images capture the animals’ roles in protecting supplies from rodents and lifting the soldiers’ spirits.
The exhibition brings attention to the often unseen presence of pets in war zones. Through these images, visitors see how animals support troops in practical and emotional ways. The tour will continue to spread awareness of their contributions in the coming weeks.
