Wave of vandalism and thefts strikes Hessisch Lichtenau and Eschwege
Hessisch Lichtenau and Eschwege have seen a series of incidents over the past week. Unknown perpetrators broke into a house in Siemensstraße, Hirschhagen, and stole several items. In Eschwege, an election poster was defaced, and a Hyundai was damaged in a car park.
Last week, intruders targeted a single-family house in Siemensstraße, Hirschhagen. They made off with several TVs, a chainsaw, and a red Opel Corsa. The police are yet to identify the culprits.
In Eschwege, an election poster was vandalized between Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning. The incident is under investigation.
Over the weekend, unknown individuals in Neu-Eichenberg defaced a traffic sign with forbidden SS runes. The local authorities are treating this as a hate crime.
Today, a 31-year-old driver from Meißner caused minor damage to her car and a guardrail on the L 3242. No further details are available.
On Monday, a 19-year-old driver from Eschwege lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a ditch on the L 3464. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
In another incident in Eschwege, a parked grey Hyundai was damaged by an unknown road user in the car park opposite the town hall on Saturday. The police are appealing for witnesses.
